In far away dreams, I dared not You were so perfect, When you would speak, When you stopped to brush your stray hairs back. You were everything, And I marveled in every bat of your lashes, And it filled my heart with joy to see your brow wrinkle with laughter, I am filled with sorrow at my own inadequacies. In far away fields soft wind played upon you, With radiance of the sun magnifying your own, I only wished to show you, Places of unlimited serenity. Where you would be forever safe, A monument of what should be. I only begged for your happiness, Though it not be with me. It will always be just a far away dream for me, Fading into night with slumber, Where you dream too, Far away from me. |
