Because I chose to try,

To lie

To myself and all the world

I do not deserve you.

I have littered my past,

Turned its purity

And tried to bleach it clean.

It hasn't worked,

But for some reason only I can seem to see.

My friends,

Romans and countrymen,

I've surrounded myself with,

Sing me their turbulent songs,

I smile and know,

They are what keeps me alive.

I seem to fade back,

Into me, into you.

Circulating around my emotions

Hand them off and pass them back

Just to see

Just to see what I could be.

But that's me

That's just me.
